The No. 25 Scottsdale women's basketball team held off Utah State Eastern in a 73-70 victory tonight at SCC.

With the win, the Artichokes improved to 4-1 overall.

The Artichokes led 40-31 at the half and extended the lead to 14 at 51-37 with just over five minutes left in the third quarter. Utah State Eastern then ended the quarter on a 19-6 run to cut the lead to just one. SCC took the lead for good at 65-64 with two free throws with three minutes left on the clock.

Vanessa Sepulveda had 18 points to lead SCC. It was two shy of her season high. Saige Miller had 14, her season-best points total.

Scottsdale will be off until Saturday, November 29 when they visit Central Arizona. Tipoff in Casa Grande is 2 p.m. Central is 3-3 to start the season.
