The Scottsdale women's basketball team fell 70-58 tonight to South Plains at SCC. The Artichokes entered the contest ranked #21 in NJCAA Division II. The Texans came in ranked #7 in NJCAA Division I.

The loss dropped SCC to 3-1 overall.

The Texans came out fast and led the Artichokes 17-4 after one quarter. SCC cut into that lead and trailed by 10 at the half, 32-22. The lead remained at 10, 55-45, heading into the fourth quarter. Scottsdale would get within seven at 62-55 with five minutes remaining. But the Texans closed out the game holding the Artichokes to just three points down the stretch.

Vanessa Sepulveda led SCC with 20 points. Mia Davis had 16.

Scottsdale will next be in action on Thursday, November 20 when they host Utah State Eastern at 5:30 p.m.
