Women's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision at Pima
In a top of the table of the clash tonight, No. 13 Pima held off No. 8 Scottsdale women's soccer 2-1 in Tucson.
The loss drops SCC to 10-2-1 overall and 9-2-1 in the conference. Pima now vaults into the ACCAC lead with 33 points. Phoenix sits second with 32 and the Artichokes third with 28. Pima has one game remaining, while PC and SCC have two.
Pima took the lead in the 19th minute after converting a turnover into a goal. The Aztecs went up 2-0 after a second chance tap-in four minutes into the second half. Samantha Battles cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 55th minute. It was her sixth goal this season.
On the stat sheet, Scottsdale had 14 shots, compared to six from Pima. SCC had seven corner kicks to two from Pima.
Scottsdale will now attempt to get back to their winning ways with a match at Paradise Valley on Saturday, October 25. It will begin at 12 p.m.
