Fall Campaigns in the Homestretch

The Scottsdale Fall sports programs are in the homestretch of their 2025 campaigns.

No. 16 Volleyball has four games remaining, three of which will be in conference. Currently the Artichokes are in third place with a 6-3 conference mark, 10-4 overall. They trail No. 10 Mesa by three games and No. 11 Glendale by two games. The Gauchos hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with SCC based on their season series sweep. Scottsdale plays a non-conference game at Ottawa this evening before returning home on Wednesday to face Pima. The Artichokes have twice beaten the Aztecs this year. Friday brings in Mesa with a preview of what could come in the Region tourney. The Thunderbirds won the fist meeting in five sets. The regular season will wrap up on October 31 at Chandler-Gilbert. The top four ACCAC squads will qualify for the NJCAA Region 1 playoffs, with the top two hosting the semifinal round on November 5.

Women's Soccer comes in at No. 8 in the newly released NJCAA poll. They are 10-1-1 overall this year and 9-1-1 in the ACCAC. The Artichokes have a daunting schedule to close things out, beginning with a match at No. 13 Pima tomorrow in Tucson. Earlier this season the two played to a 2-2 draw. After the match, SCC will face Paradise Valley on Saturday at PVCC. They will then close things out with No. 6 Phoenix at home on Monday, October 27. The top two will host the semifinal round of the Region 1 playoffs on October 30. Sophomore Ava Fike has led SCC with 16 goals and five assists this season.

Men's Soccer has improved on its strong showing last season. The Artichokes are in fourth in the ACCAC with a 7-3-1 record, 7-4-1 overall. They trail third place Glendale by just 1 point. As with the women, SCC will play Pima in Tucson tomorrow. The Aztec men are ranked No. 6 in the nation. Saturday will close out the away portion of the regular season schedule with a visit to Paradise Valley. Then No. 1 Phoenix will pay a visit to SCC on October 27 to close out the regular season. The Region 1 playoffs for the men will be on Friday, October 31.
