Late Rally Pushes Baseball Past Gateway

Scottsdale baseball scored four in the eighth and six in the ninth to defeat Gateway 10-7 today at Gene Autry Park in Mesa.

The win improves the Artichokes to 23-18 overall and 13-16 in the conference.

Phoenix West went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two RBI and a run scored to pace the offense. Elijah Morales had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Reed Lellbach (1-0) picked up the win in relief, going 1.2 innings, allowing three runs, two earned on two hits.  Hank Smith picked up his sixth save.

The two will meet again tomorrow, April 2 at SCC. First pitch is 3 p.m.
