Season Comes to a Close for Men's Basketball

The Scottsdale men's basketball team were soundly beaten by #2 and undefeated Pima in Tucson today by a score of 122-57.

The game concludes the SCC season with an overall record of 10-18 and 7-11 in the conference. The Artichokes finished in a tie for fourth in the conference, but South Mountain claimed the final Region I playoff spot based on winning the season series, 2-1. It was also the fourth-straight loss for SCC.

The Aztecs jumped out to 40-6 lead today and later led 64-18 at the half. They would continue the onslaught into the second half to complete their undefeated regular season with a record of 30-0.

Tyson Helms led Scottsdale with 14 points.

The NJCAA Region I semifinals will begin on Wednesday, March 5. The No. 2 seed Chandler-Gilbert will host No. 3 Glendale. The top-seeded Aztecs will host No. 4 South Mountain.
