
Women's Basketball Stifles Phoenix
#22 Scottsdale women's basketball used a strong defensive effort to defeat Phoenix College 69-47 this afternoon at SCC.
The Artichokes are now 14-8 overall and 10-4 in the league.
The Artichokes used an 8-3 run over the final two minutes of the opening quarter to lead 20-15. The Bears scored the first six points of the second quarter to lead 21-20. SCC would then close the half on an 18-2 run to take a 15-point halftime advantage. Scottsdale continued to open its margin and held a 52-32 lead after 30 minutes.
Vanessa Sepulveda led SCC with 21 points. Saige Miller added 13.
Scottsdale will return to the court on Wednesday, February 19 when they travel to Chandler-Gilbert. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m. The Artichokes have won the previous two meetings this season.
