
Men's Basketball Climbs Back to .500 in Conference After Downing PC
Scottsdale men's basketball snapped a two-game losing streak with an 85-79 win over Phoenix today at SCC.
The Artichokes are now 10-14 overall and 7-7 in the league.
Zach Anderson hit four 3-pointers in the opening half to lead SCC to a 49-39 lead at the break. SCC led by as many as 19 with a 37-18 advantage with six minutes to go. PC used a 12-5 run in the final 2:30 to cut into the SCC lead. Scottsdale opened the lead to as much as 20 in the second half, 66-46 with 12:20 left. Phoenix cut that to six with 1:15 left, but not get any closer.
Anderson finished with a team-high 19 points.
Scottsdale will be in action on Wednesday, February 19 when they travel to Chandler-Gilbert. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. SCC and CGCC have split their first two games played this season.
