
Scottsdale Takes Down #9 Pima
#24 Scottsdale women's basketball picked a big win tonight, downing #9 Pima 68-62 at SCC.
The Artichokes improved to 13-7 overall and 9-3 in the ACCAC. Pima is also now 9-3 in the conference.
The Aztecs led 14-10 after one and opened a 13-point lead in the second. The Artichokes closed out the quarter on an 18-7 run to trim the Pima lead to 34-32 at the break. SCC led by as many as 14 in a dominate third quarter performance to lead 55-43 heading into the final 10 minutes. Pima would get within four in the fourth, but SCC was able to close it out.
MorningRain Honani and Landin Kelley each had 14 points. For Honani it was a season high.
The Artichokes will be off until Wednesday, February 12 when they will host #5 Mesa at 5:30 p.m. The Thunderbirds have beaten SCC in the first two meetings this season.
