Baseball Wins Sixth Straight to Start Season

Last time out the Scottsdale baseball team pounded out 14 hits in their win and today saw the beat continue with a 13-hit attack that downed visiting Southern Idaho 10-2 in eight innings.

The win improved the Artichokes to 6-0 overall.

SCC trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh where they would put up a six-spot to take control of the game.

Chris Ricard went 2-for-4 today with three runs scored and five RBI. He hit his second home run of the season. Brendan Killeen had three hits.

Tyler Hansen (1-0) picked up the win, tossing 2.0 innings in relief. He allowed a run on one hit. Andrew Filimoehala started and went 5.0 innings. He allowed one run on two hits and recorded nine strikeouts.

Today was the first of five meetings between the clubs this weekend at SCC. Tomorrow will be a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
