
SCC Controls MCC for Road Win
The Scottsdale men's basketball team returned to the win column after defeating Mesa 77-66 today at MCC.
The win improved the Artichokes to 7-10 overall and 4-3 in the ACCAC.
SCC used a 12-0 run in the first half to lead 36-25 at the break. The T-birds battled back and had the game tied at 42 with 13 minutes to play. The Artichokes quickly regained the lead, one they would not relinquish the rest of the game. Scottsdale shot 52% for the game, 26-for-50.
Tayden Arizona was the leading scorer for SCC, matching his season high with 17 points. Jaevyn Yancey and Alex Williams each hauled in six rebounds.
Scottsdale will remain on the road with a game at Phoenix College on Wednesday, January 22. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. SCC defeated PC 89-78 in their first meeting on December 4.
