The Scottsdale volleyball team will begin NJCAA Region I Division II postseason play this week as it looks to claim the championship once again.

SCC enters the postseason as the No. 2 seed after going 14-4 in the conference this year. Glendale earned the top seed after posting a 15-3 league record. Pima (12-6) will be the No. 3 seed and Mesa (11-7) the No. 4 seed. The entire tournament will be hosted on the campus of Glendale Community College.

The Artichokes will open their tournament run this Thursday, November 7 when they play Pima at 4 p.m. The Aztecs won two of the three meetings between the two this season, including their match in Tucson this past Friday. Glendale will face Mesa at 7 p.m. Looking ahead at other potential matchups for the Artichokes, SCC has beaten both GCC and MCC in two of the three matches that they played this season.

Scottsdale's season saw four of its student-athletes honored for their achievements on the court. Taryn Davis was named the Region I Player of the Year, Region I Setter of the Year and to the Region I First Team. Jayden Eaker was also named to the First Team. Samantha Gloria earned Second Team honors, while Paige Hoeder was an Honorable Mention selection.

The full tournament schedule is listed below. For those that will be attending the tournament at GCC, admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students per day. GCC will be a cash only venue for the weekend.

Friday, November 8

Match 3: Loser of Match 1 vs. Loser of Match 2 - 11 a.m.

Match 4: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2 - 2 p.m.

Match 5: Winner of Match 3 vs. Loser of Match 4 - 7 p.m.

Saturday, November 8

Match 6: Winner of Match 4 vs. Winner of Match 5 - 4 p.m.
