The #9 Scottsdale volleyball team swept #19 Mesa tonight 3-0 on the campus of MCC.

Scottsdale is now 13-2 overall and 10-2 in the ACCAC. They have won six straight.  

Set scores for the match were 25-23, 25-20, 25-9.

Earlier this season, MCC defeated SCC in five sets at Mesa. The Artichokes later defeated the Thunderbirds 3-1 at home.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month both sides donned pink uniforms for the match.

Also last week saw Taryn Davis honored as the ACCAC Division II Offensive Player of the Week for week six. The sophomore from Peoria, Ariz. had 28 digs in SCC's two wins last week, including 17 against Glendale on October 2.

Scottsdale will return home Wednesday, October 9 for a matchup with Pima at 7 p.m. It will be the second of three regular season meetings between the two sides, with the Aztecs taking the first match in five sets.
