Women's Basketball Drops Opener Against Utah State University-Eastern

The Scottsdale Community College Women's Basketball program opened up their season at the Phoenix College Tip-off Showcase against Utah State University-Eastern. Scottsdale got down early in the 1st quarter bt the score of 18-8, but was able to trim the lead a bit to go into halftime by the score of 32-23. USU-Eastern pushed their lead back to double-digits in the second half and would eventually take down SCC by the final score of 76-59. Scottsdale was led by Danay Williams who finished the game with 22 points while shooting 9 for 11 from the floor. Talia Dial finished the game with 10 points and 4 rebounds, while Nikkianna Kinsel chipped in 11 points off the bench. Scottsdale will have to regroup quickly as they take on NJCAA D1 College of Southern Nevada on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The game will be held at the neutral site of Phoenix College.
