Fighting Artichokes Have Solid Start to 2021 Campaign
The Scottsdale Community College Men's Golf program had a good first round today at Dobson Ranch Golf Course to open up the 2021 season.
The two-day tournament at Dobson Ranch has a strong and competitive field this week. Scottsdale is in the middle of the pack after the first round with Sam Nelson (FR/Scottsdale, AZ) shooting the low round for the Artichokes with a 75. Both Matthew Creighton (SO/Des Moines, IA) and Alex Kling (FR/Scottsdale, AZ) came through with each shooting a 76 on the day. Rayce Mathews (FR/Payson, AZ) rounded out the team score for SCC with a 77. Morgan Boltz (FR/Clovis, CA) shot a 107 on the day, but his score will not be added to the overall team score of 304. Scottsdale will look to climb the leaderboards both individually and as a team tomorrow as the players are now more familiar with the course.
