Softball Blows Away Scottsdale by Six Runs
GateWay Softball easily dispatched the Scottsdale Artichokes 7-1 on Friday. The Geckos got things moving in the second inning, when Amaya Porch doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
 
Kelly Katalbas got the start for GateWay. The ace lasted all seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out eight and walking zero. Adriana Armstrong was in the pitcher's circle for Scottsdale. She lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out six.
 
The Lady Geckos racked up ten hits on the day. Angelina Martinez, Antarez Sierra, Amaya Porch, and Kaitlin Samuelson each racked up multiple hits for GateWay. The Geckos were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
 
Softball is back in action on Tuesday, February 28 at Glendale. The first game will start at 1pm.
