Baseball Preps for Final Four Games

The Scottsdale Community College baseball program is in the home stretch as they head into their final week of the regular season.

Scottsdale has four games remaining with two being at home and two on the road.

After going 2-2 this past week, SCC is sitting in a virtual tie for fourth place. The top four schools in ACCAC Division II will advance to the NJCAA Region I playoffs that begin on May 2.

Scottsdale currently sits at 14-20 in the conference, while Gateway stands at 15-21. Gateway has only two games left in their regular season. Glendale is sixth at 13-23, two games behind the Artichokes. Paradise Valley is holding the third spot at 15-19.

Up first this week for SCC is Phoenix College. The Artichokes will host the Bears on Tuesday, before traveling to PC on Wednesday. Both games will begin at 3 p.m. Scottsdale was swept by Phoenix in a two-game set back in late February.

Following the series with the Bears, SCC will wrap up the regular season with first-place Mesa. The Thunderbirds play at Scottsdale on Friday at 3 p.m. The two then play at Mesa at 12 p.m. on Saturday. The clubs split a series in early March, with both winning on the others home field.

All SCC regular season home games for 2023-24 are free of charge. However, any donation is welcome and will help the department navigate our current financial landscape.
