Softball Sweeps PV; Hosts Chandler-Gilbert Saturday

The Scottsdale Community College softball team secured two critical wins on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep at Paradise Valley.

SCC jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings en route to a 4-2 win in the opener. Adriana Armstrong (8-4) picked up her eighth win of the season. She allowed two earned runs on seven hits over 7.0 innings. She fanned nine. Michaela Whitehair matched her season high with three hits. She also added an RBI. Kim Hernandez had two hits.

The Artichokes used a big five-run fourth inning to pace them to a 10-2 victory in game two. Sydnee Levandowski and Bailey Dominguez did the damage at the plate, each homering with three RBI. Isabelle Aguirre (3-6) went 5.0 innings to record the win. She allowed two runs, one earned over 5.0 innings.

Scottsdale is now 11-13 overall and 7-9 in the ACCAC.

SCC will host Chandler-Gilbert on Saturday. Game one of the doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m. The Coyotes enter the day just behind the Artichokes at 7-10 in the conference.
