Baseball Looks to Rebound Against Eastern Arizona After 0-4 Week

The Scottsdale Community College baseball team will look to rebound from an 0-4 week with a doubleheader today against Eastern Arizona. That DH begins at 12 p.m. at SCC.

Scottsdale was swept by Cochise in Douglas Ariz. over the weekend. In game one of the twin bill, SCC was held to just six hits in losing 12-2 to Cochise. Chris Ricard had two of the six hits and added an RBI. Tyler Child (1-3) started and took the loss.

The Artichokes jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one inning in the second game, but found themselves down 8-2 after six. SCC plated four in the seventh inning of the nine-inning contest, but would get no closer. Ricard once again had two hits, as did Larry Haskins. Kyle Neefe had three RBI and a home run. Jase Johnson (0-1) started and was charged with the loss. Austin Balmes allowed one unearned run over 3.1 innings in relief.

After the doubleheader today, the Artichokes will continue their difficult stretch of DI games with a trip to Pima this Saturday. That doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m. in Tucson.
