Softball Enters Tough Stretch With Trip to Yavapai
The Scottsdale softball team heads up north this weekend for a doubleheader with ACCAC Division I Yavapai. The doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 12 p.m.
SCC has dropped four of its past five and its overall record stands at 5-5.
This past Tuesday, SCC opened conference play for the 2024 season and split a doubleheader with Gateway. Adriana Armstrong tossed a complete game shutout to lead Scottsdale to a 1-0 8-inning win in the opener. Armstrong allowed only six hits and fanned six. Gateway would take the second game by a score of 9-0. SCC was limited to just two hits.
Nina Slater and Sydnee Levandowski are leading the SCC offense through the opening 10 games. Slater is batting .500 (14-for-28) with five doubles and six RBI. Levandowski is hitting .428 (14-for-33) with four doubles, three triples and 14 RBI.
On the mound, Armstrong's sterling 1.42 ERA is fourth-best among all ACCAC players. She is 4-1 overall.
After the weekend trip to Yavapai the schedule will not get any easier for SCC as Phoenix (Tuesday, March 5) and South Mountain (Saturday, March 9) will visit SCC.
