Men's Hoops Eye Playoffs

With one game remaining in its regular season, Interim Head Men's Basketball Coach Curtis Millage has SCC on the verge of another postseason appearance.

This Saturday, the Artichokes (12-14, 8-13) travel to GCC for a game that will begin to clarify the NJCAA Region I Playoff seedings. SCC have the opportunity to finish as high as the No. 3 seed. Chandler-Gilbert and Pima remain in contest for the top two seeds and hosting rights for the semifinal rounds.

Scottsdale has gone 2-3 over its past five games, with all three losses being of the close variety. Last Saturday the Artichokes picked up a critical win over South Mountain to put them in prime position for the postseason.

King Turner has led the Artichokes this season in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.8 ppg and 4.7 rpg. Charles Temple has averaged 9.9 ppg, while Thomas Hastings has added 9.2 ppg.

On the season, SCC has shot 44.2% from the floor, fourth-best among ACCAC Division II programs. SCC has been one of the best in the conference, turning the ball over only 11.4 per game, dropping that total to 9.9 in the month of February.
