The Scottsdale baseball team split their midweek conference series with Glendale this week, winning 7-1 at GCC on Tuesday and losing 5-4 today at home.

Dale Fry moved to 2-0 on the season with a complete-game victory on Tuesday. For Fry, he allowed one earned run on six hits over 9.0 innings. He fanned six and walked one.

SCC pounded out 15 hits in the contest, with Prince Deboskie and Elijah Eynon each collecting three.

On Wednesday, GCC would break a 4-4 tie with a run in the eighth. Jase Johnson (0-1), pitching in relief of starter Austin Balmes, was charged with the loss.

The Artichokes outhit the Gauchos 13-5 on the day, with Deboskie, Eynon, Larry Haskins, Drake Khamis and Will Sevier each with two knocks.

Scottsdale gets right back at it tomorrow, Feb. 22 when they play at Gateway. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
