Women's Basketball Falls in OT to Pima

Women's Basketball Falls in OT to Pima

The much anticipated second meeting between the Scottsdale Women's Basketball team and No. 17 Pima did not disappoint, with the Aztecs prevailing in overtime 69-66 today in Tucson.

The two played to an 11-11 tie after the first quarter. SCC would go cold from the field, going 6:30 without a point to start the second half, falling behind 19-11. The Aztecs would eventually take a 27-17 lead into the locker room. Scottsdale found their offensive form in the third quarter, pouring in 22 to cut the lead to 46-39 after three. SCC chipped away in the fourth, eventually taking a 60-56 lead with 1:07 left. Pima would score the last four points to send the game into overtime. Pima did not trail in the extra session and Makeylei Snyder's three at the buzzer to tie missed to end it.

Scottsdale drops to 11-8 overall and 7-7 in the ACCAC. SCC and Pima will see each other again on February 28 in Scottsdale.

The Artichokes will play their next three games at home. First up will be Glendale on Wednesday, February 7. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. SCC defeated the Gauchos 86-52 on Jan. 10.
