Baseball Splits DH for Second Straight Day

The Scottsdale Community College Baseball team split a doubleheader with visiting Southern Idaho for the second consecutive day on Thursday.

Game 1 – SCC pounded out 14 hits to defeat CSI 11-5. Prince Deboskie went 3-for-5 with a home run and 4 RBI. Chris Ricard went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and a home run. Brendan Killeen went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. James Hubbard (1-1) started and picked up the win.

Game 2 – SCC carried a 3-2 lead into the 7th inning before allowing four runs to lose 6-3. SCC loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th inning, but were unable to push any runs across. Wyatt Haught started for SCC and went 5.0 innings, allowing two runs, both earned on four hits. He fanned six. Ben Ruckman (0-2) took the loss. Ricard had two hits for Scottsdale.

Scottsdale's overall record now stands at 3-4.

SCC will next be in action on Wednesday, February 7 at 3 p.m. when they will face Benedictine JV.
