Women's Hoops Dominate CGCC

The Scottsdale Community College Women's Basketball team exacted a little payback this afternoon from their Dec. 16 loss to Chandler-Gilbert, crushing the Coyotes 79-47 at CGCC.

The Artichokes led 20-8 after the opening 10 minutes but confirmed their dominance in the second quarter by outscoring the Coyotes 24-6 to lead 44-14 at the break. SCC would lead by as many as 43 in the third quarter, settling in for a 72-33 lead after three.

Talia Dial had 17 points to lead Scottsdale. It was her highest scoring output since putting up 30 vs. South Mountain on Dec. 13. Kristine Scabby added 12.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for SCC, improving their overall mark to 9-6 and 5-5 in the ACCAC.

Scottsdale returns home this Wednesday, January 24 when Phoenix College visits. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Artichokes defeated the Bears at Phoenix 52-43 on December 9.
