SCC Defeats Mesa For Second Straight Game
For the second consecutive game, the Scottsdale Community College Men's Basketball team defeated Mesa, this time by a score of 82-69.
Scottsdale opened up a 10-point lead with 5 minutes to go in the opening half on 3-pointers from Noah Moeller and Charles Temple. The Thunderbirds would slice the lead to one before SCC closed out the half leading 40-36. Leading 64-63 with 5 minutes remaining in the game, the Artichokes would go on an 18-6 run to secure the win.
Temple led the Artichokes with a season-best 21 points. Cash Scott also had a season-best scoring night, adding in 14.
The win improves the Artichokes to 9-5 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
Scottsdale travels to Chandler-Gilbert to face the Coyotes on Saturday, January 20 at 4 p.m. The Coyotes, currently ranked No. 12 in NJCAA Division II, defeated the Artichokes 83-80 on Dec. 16 on a last second three.
