SCC Thrashes Parkland; Sets Up Battle of Undefeated for National Title

The No. 2 seed Scottsdale Volleyball team thrashed No. 3 Parkland (IL) 3-0 today in the Semifinal round of the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Scottsdale earned their trip to the Championship by winning by set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-15. It also marked the second consecutive season SCC has swept Parkland in the NJCAA Semifinals.

Scottsdale's nearly flawless performance produced a .381 hitting percentage to just .108 for Parkland. Macee Lesueur and Reese Holtorf each had 12 kills on the day. Taryn Davis had 33 assists.

The win improved the Artichokes to 27-0 this season.

Up next for Scottsdale is the national championship matchup with No. 1 seed and also undefeated Cowley County (KS) at 5 p.m. (AZ time). Cowley enters the match with a 40-0 record. The Artichokes and Tigers met last year in the NJCAA Championships Quarterfinals, with SCC coming out on top 3-2. In that match Cowley took a 2-0 lead, before Scottsdale charged back to win the final three sets.
