The Scottsdale Volleyball team cruised past Walters State (TN) tonight in their opening match of the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

After waiting all day to take the court, SCC wasted little time in heating up, winning the opening set in dominate fashion, 25-11. The second set was equally as impressive, winning 25-12. The Senators would win the first seven points of the third set and held on to win 25-21. SCC would put any fears of an upset to bed with a resounding 25-16 fourth set win to take the match 3-1. 

The win improved the Artichokes to 25-0 this season.

Up next for Scottsdale is a quarterfinal matchup with No. 7 seed Kirkwood (IA) at 6:30 p.m. (AZ time). Kirkwood, who reside in Cedar Rapids, enter the match with a 32-8 record.
