The top-seeded Scottsdale Volleyball program advanced to the NJCAA Region 1 Division II Championship with a 3-0 blanking of No. 2 seed Chandler-Gilbert.

The two top-seeds battled in the opening set, with SCC prevailing 25-22. From there the Artichokes established a foothold on the match taking a commanding 25-14 second set win. The third set proved to be much of the same with Scottsdale coming out on top 25-18.

Scottsdale's overall record improved to 23-0.

With the win, Scottsdale has advanced to the championship round of the tournament. They will face the winner of tonight's match between No. 4 Glendale and No. 2 Chandler-Gilbert. Scottsdale is in the driver's seat of this double elimination tournament, needing only to win once to claim the Region title. The first match championship tomorrow, Nov. 4 will begin at 4 p.m. If necessary, a second championship match would be played at 7 p.m.
