The top-seeded Scottsdale Volleyball program opened NJCAA Region I Division II Tournament play this evening with a 3-0 sweep of No. 4 Glendale on the campus of SCC.

SCC opened the match with a close 25-22 set win. The Artichokes controlled the play in the second set, handily beating the Gauchos 25-16. The Artichokes would win the final six points of the third set to win 25-18.

Scottsdale's overall record improved to 22-0.

The win propels Scottsdale forward in the tournaments winners bracket where they will face No. 2 seed Chandler-Gilbert at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 3. SCC has defeated the Coyotes in their two previous matches this season, winning in five sets at CGCC and in three sets in the Artichokes' season and home finale last week.
