Women's Soccer Falls to Phoenix
The No. 11 ranked Scottsdale Women's Soccer program fell tonight 2-1 to No. 3 Phoenix on the campus of SCC.
The loss drops the Artichokes to 11-4-1 overall and 8-2-2 in the ACCAC. Scottsdale has earned the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Region 1 Playoffs next Tuesday, Oct.24. SCC will host a familiar playoff foe in No. 3 seed Pima Community College. Start time is still to be determined.
In tonight's match, SCC opened the scoring in the second half with a goal from Indi Stum in the 54th minute. PC evened the match at 1-1 with a penalty kick goal in the 62nd minute and then netted the game winner in the 68th minute. The Artichokes pressured the Bears in the final minutes of the contest but were unable to find the equalizer.
