
Unisa Turay Lifts Artichokes Up For Win Over South Mountain

The Scottsdale Community College picked up a nice conference win tonight over South Mountain Community College. Scottsdale went on the road and at the half was tied at 45-all. SCC would take a late 6 point lead, but SMCC would not go away quietly and tie the game 88-all with 31 seconds to play. Unisa Turay would go on to hit a mid-range jump-shot with 4 seconds remaining in the game to give the Artichokes the 2 point lead and the eventual win. Turay would lead the Artichokes with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Tyree Tyler would have a huge night going for 18 points and 9 rebounds. Dante Gonzales would also chip in 10 points and 6 rebounds. The Artichokes did not shoot the ball well from behind the 3-point line going 3-17 (17.6%) on the evening, but would shoot a very impressive 33-36 (91.7%) from the foul line which was the deciding factor for the ball game. Scottsdale will look to keep their positive momentum going as they are now 5-2 (2-1) on the season and will host Central Arizona College on Saturday, December 4th at 4:00 PM.
