Thunderbirds Defeat Artichokes in Four

No. 16 Scottsdale volleyball fell 3-1 to No. 10 Mesa tonight at SCC.

Scottsdale is now 11-6 overall and 6-5 in the league.

The Artichokes outscored the Thunderbirds 14-7 to close out the first set, winning 25-18. Mesa rebounded to even the match with a 25-20 second set win. Scottsdale came out hot in the third set, leading 19-11. Mesa rallied to even the score at 23. Both teams then had match points, but it was the Thunderbirds who would come out on top 28-26. The Thunderbirds dominated the fourth set, taking it and the match 25-11.

Scottsdale will close out the regular season next Friday, October 31 when they visit Chandler-Gilbert. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
