Men's Soccer Runs Win Streak to Three

The Scottsdale men's soccer team put up another strong performance this evening in a 4-1 win over Mesa at MCC. The Artichokes swept the season series with the Thunderbirds.

SCC is now 6-4 overall and 6-3 in the ACCAC. It was their third win in a row.

Derek Moran netted two goals to lead the Artichokes. Teammates Colvin Chandler and Liam Martin each added one. Landon Johnson started in goal and made seven saves.

Scottsdale remains in fourth place in the ACCAC, one point behind third-place Glendale. They are nine points ahead of fifth-place Mesa. The top four schools qualify for the Region 1 playoffs.

Up next, weather permitting, will be a visit from the top team in the nation, Phoenix College. That match will be on Saturday, October 11 at 8 p.m. PC defeated SCC 2-0 on September 13 at Phoenix.
